I've been riding without padded shorts since I started cycling and I've been touring for the last 48 years (on and off).
I snapped a rail on my on my antique San Marco Regal and the new ones are rock hard in comparison. I've tried lots of new saddles and I can't find one I like.
I think it is time I tried padded shorts or liners, what should I try to start with?

So many out there over such a wide range of prices!
I get on well with the Howies stuff.0 -
Budget? I got on well with a mid range pair of Wiggle's own DHB bibshorts for several years. Then last year I treated myself to some Assos ones from their outlet shop. Thinner pad but with some kind of magical Swiss double layer thing going on, so even comfier for me.
YMMV of course
You could try searching on here for similar threads, they come along at regular intervals.0 -
Been very impressed with a pair of Ale shorts i bought recently from Wiggle. Mid range price wise and a great fit with a very comfy pad.
If you can get a pair form the Assos outlet for cheap then thats also a very good option0 -
I think I'll pop into a LBS or two to try some on.
Thanks guys.Oh and please remember to click on my blog:
