Some good shops have demo saddles you can try for a few days.

This is true and a good example is that RockmonkeySC finds the Nukeproof saddle that I have a torture device while I find it as comfortable as any saddle I've tried.

I've found Specialized BG saddles suit me, they're also quite inexpensive.

Many find the charge saddles (spoon and knife) very comfy, the spoon is the better padded of the two.

I have the Spoon on one of my bikes and it has not lasted well at all. It began looking very tatty within six months.

I found the Spoon not too comfortable and it didn't last well. I have also seen a few which creaked like a bast@rd

The Spoon on my commuter has done 4 years and 5000miles with very little wear and no creaking.

The other spoon was on my MTB for 2 years and the same, its now on my retro MTB.

My MTB now has a knife.

The Bontrager off my MTB has not worn well at all by comparison.
