After yet another lost ride on Strava with Iphone app i think its time to investigate other options.

Dont want to spend a huge amount of cash, so looking for a garmin 200 ( new or used )

Not sure how the heart rate monitoring would benifit me just now but im new to cycling so happy to be corrected.

Anything else strava compatible worth considering ?

Just get the 200. Straightforward and reliable. If you're a beginner you won't learn much from the various sensors that go with the more costly models.
  • does the 200 work with a turbo trainer or is it pure gps based.

    GPS only

£180? 2 and a half months old. A1 condition boxed, with brand new speed/cadence sensor, HRM, all mounts etc.

I'd rip his arms off at £180.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Just in case it is a factor in your decision, the 200 is not compatible with HRM or speed/cadence sensors, it's GPS only. It's also a hell of a lot better than repeatedly losing rides when using a phone to track you!

Just updated my 500 to a 510 so selling the 500/HRM/cadance sensor.

The screen does have a scratch on it but it's not "new" money.

Pm me if you want pics or more info

    IPBike + ANT+ phone + Topeak Drybag

I use a Sony Arc S bought off ebay.

Total cost for me was ~£55. Equivalent to a Garmin 800 but for size and battery life (longet I've gone is 2.5 hrs and battery was still fine).

I use it with a Garmin HRM, Cadence and Speed sensors (the combined unit until it was stolen and now the individual ones).
