Big bottom girls...what kind of saddle

My wife has wide hips and a big bottom (don't tell her I said so)! We are struggling to find a saddle that fits her but she seems to prefer saddles with plenty of flex on the wings....any advice ?

It's not possible to advise which saddle to buy. If your wife is a beginner or has not ridden for a while, no saddle will be comfortable the first time she uses it. You have to do few hundred km before you can work out what type of saddle is good for your rear. Both the saddle and the arse needs to wear in.
The wide flexi saddle will only be good for upright position for short journeys.0 -
Has she had her 'Aris measured?
Trek supply their dealers with an arse-measuring tool - armed with that, you can ensure that whichever saddle she chooses is at least the correct size for her cra... bottom.0 -
Have a look at Brooks B-72 - they are wide, heavy, and comfortable.
It will probably require a special seatpost or seatpost adapter because of the non-standard rails on the saddle.
The aren't 'racing' saddles, but I've ridden many 100 mile centuries on mine.
