Currently lower cliff is out on the monkey. Kitbag hill on the start of the dog from the railway crossing / monkey side and the last section from the split for the monkey on the dog. The diversions are currently using fire road.

Forgot to mention high voltage section out as well, hopefully they won't be long before reopening full trail.

How is Cannock for beginners? Generally and specifically at the moment?

Personally I think cannock is ok for riders that want to push themselves. I had only done hicks lodge and carsington prior to going to cannock with a good mate. I did the monkey trail first which is the harder of the two main trails. Follow the Dog is fairly easy a few black bits but detours around them. Some parts are hard going but not technically, kitbag hill, marquis drive, cardiac hill are long dragging hills. Some areas are currently out due to forestry work. Give it a try but go at your own pace don't try to race others. If slow remember to move over for faster riders. Cannock is made up of short legs so just do one at a time.
Ps look on YouTube at some of the clips, Sherwood pines Kitchener trail is easier.
