Should I put a chain guide on my bike?

I have a Giant Trance 27.5 3, and the chain falls off the front sprocket. This happened twice, both when I was going downhill. I am kind of considering putting a chain guide on my bike so it won't fall off. Is it worth it? And how much will it cost?
Thanks in advance!

Which ring? You shouldn't need one with a front mech.I don't do smileys.

The biggest one. I have a 2x10 set-up.0 -
Sounds like you need to adjust the front mech, correctly adjusted the chain can't fall off....the front mech is a chain guide, just a moveable one!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

It will fall off with a front mech over really rough ground.
The Blackspire Stinger is cheap and does a good job. Personally I prefer a narrow/wide single ring and cassette with expander ring.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
