nissen fundoplication post op

has anyone on here had the above procedure done? long shot maybe!!! just wondered how long others have waited and felt after going out for the first time and there after?

not got my follow up appointment with the surgeon until 31/03 and really would like to get out before then as I haven't been out for about 8 months since first suffering the symptoms.

    Advice from your surgeon is the best bet, but it may well be generic and not specific. Any operation where your abdominal cavity is opened needs time to heal all the various layers involved, especially the muscular layer which holds everything in.
    Talk to your surgeon; best achieved by phoning the hospital and asking to speak to his secretary, then arranging a telephone call.

    You really don't want to end up with any complications and in the absence of advice, don't push things.

    (All a bit wishy-washy, but I'm in the same business and being cautious is never a bad thing...)

    i think that is the norm really. all the leaflets say leave it 6 weeks so should be ok. its just nice to know other peoples experiences who have been through the same thing.
