Hi

I know that there are 3 types of road saddle;
Arione
Aliante
Antares

But what are the variations with in each one?

Looking to try a cheap one off ebay, website recommend me the Aliante. Checked ebay and it had Aliante ones, but Gamma?

Help!!

    Look at the website, it has everything you want to know. It's all about your level of flexibility.

    Doesn't matter what anyone else says, it's your ar$e, get it cheap as you're doing, try it for a few rides if it's good keep it, if not resell it and move on to the next one, etc. etc.

    I'd also recommend if you go for the Arionne (for more flexible riders) try and get an older one, the new ones have a slightly different (kinda like matte leather) material that is more grippy than the old ones and makes it harder to slide back and forth and adjust your position.

    Could just be me but I preferred the old material.

    Quite right, i'm really flexible and the website recommends an Arione, but any "dome topped" saddle is agony to me, i use Antares as it has a flatter top and its slightly wider.

    Everyone is different. Don't think of the website recommendations as infallible. I'm really flexible but find the Aliante Vs the best lightweight road saddle I've ever tried.

    Most Fizik dealers will offer a demo service.

    Yeah I went to one today, and you have to buy it to demo it!?!

    Usually, shops take a swipe of your card as a deposit, which is then refunded when you bring the saddle back.

    It all depends on your sit bone. I have the Antares and that feels perfect. I tried the Arione and never felt it was directly under me. Almost like I were shifting side to side on it. Try and find a bike shop with test models you can use for a week or so. It takes time to get used to any saddle so a try out in a shop may not be enough.
