replacing leaking caliper - do I need to drain the brake?

I have a set of m785 XT brakes which are awesome but my front caliper is leaking. I've now bought a replacement caliper.
Question I have is can I just unscrew the banjo fitting and swap the caliper over, or do I need to drain the brake fluid out of the brake, hose etc first?

You can just swap, but you'll have to do a proper bleed anyway as the caliper will be full of air.I don't do smileys.
