following a deeply annoying 16kph two wheel slide on a slimy/greasy road, i'm currently laid up trying to recover from a broken hip, with suddenly a lot of time on my hands

so i thought i may as well hop back and lurch into my 5000th post

did cleat come back? who's currently in/out?

hugs to all

Welcome back sungod, we knew you wouldn't stay away forever.

You're the second person today who's come back from the dead :D

I'd welcome you back and extend my sympathy but can I have some proof you really have broken your hip first? Also, was it Stevo's fault? I've heard he's a right bastard like that.

It's quite easy to imagine - essentially it's that round bit underneath your tummy where your legs plug in.

If you fall over you can break it.

Anyhow, what if the rest of his family have also broken their hips, or lost the use of theirs legs, or are in wheelchairs or have suffered diseases where they have lost their legs or they may have eaten them or had to sell them to gypsies to fund their smack habits because they have got too mingling to prostitute themselves any more and you're telling them to run around after him?

For fukkkks sake - that's sick. Evil. It's makes me want to vomit. Do you have no feelings for anyone else?

thanks all, i've actually moved into mum's for a few weeks as my place is stair-rich, mrs sungod is also on crutches following reconstruction of most of the ligaments in one knee, so we are a matched set at the moment

i don't recommend breaking a hip, and it seems i broke it at the worst place, so currently hoping the bone recovers/survives, aside from the pain, boredom, loss of independence, and interminable hopping, you can't ride a bike

at the time it was remarkably pain free, as long as i didn't try moving my leg, got a ride in an ambulance with all the trimmings and an excellent cabin crew, fasttrack through a&e, xray, "are you sure you're not in pain?", operation, i think it was 4-5 hours total from ambulance to waking up on the ward, all the doctors, nurses, physio etc. were all lovely, even the hospital food was good

so there are good memories, in particular the kindness of strangers who looked after me in the road, overcame callcentre resistance to get the ambulance, and looked after my bike in their home
