PushLoc Sticking

The PushLoc Sprint remote on my Rockshox RLT Reba forks (2013) has stopped working smoothly: I have to press the button a number of times before it will activate.

I have replaced replaced the inner cable, and cleaned and lubricated the inside of the pushloc including the outer cable; but this has made no difference.

Is there an alternative remote lever available?

THANKS

With the cable removed, does the damper unit spring back properly? If so I'd be replacing the outer cable.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Just burn the pushloc. They are a terrible piece of engineering, a real heap of sh!t.
I have had two, both were hopeless. Just remove it and use the knob on the crown.

    ^^What he said.

And maybe take a look at this thread which has my ghetto bodge for making an easy crown lockout on 2013 Reba solo air forks viewtopic.php?f=10004&t=12971561&p=18901410#p18901410

Nb. On another similar thread Rockmonkey pointed out that just unclipping the spring in the damper unit rather than disassembling and removing it will be fine (and a quicker fix).

It's a shame that the pushloc is such poor quality. Mines only had approx 25 hours riding use (bought the forks last year); but when it worked smoothly it was great and I used it more than I initially thought I would.
  • It's got nothing to do with the push lock if the fork part is actually working as it should. Twist the fork knob by hand and see how much tension is there - there should be a fair amount. If there is a fair amount then all it can be is friction in the cable or friction on the lever pivots - which can't be that bad if setup as it should be.

I changed out my pushlock for an old DX thumbshifter. Works much better. You can pick thumbies up on ebay for way cheaper than a new poplock.
  • I (and many others) have had the exact same problem. Tried different cables, new cable, outers etc. The return spring in the fork is weak.

I turned it into a manual adjustment on the head of the fork, by removing the return spring then cutting up an old road inner tube into a 0.5cm ring, and stretched that around the dial (also used double double sided tape to secure in place). Happy with it now.
