So have finally decided on the above as a fast commuter / winter bike upgrade and have found a deal [£1,099] which am happy with.

Does anyone know if there is sufficient clearance for guards of any description? Cruds or raceblades?

I'm no guard expert and the guy in the shop said you can fit half guards? Seemed to imply that they could be fitted on the bike without being linked to form a full guard.

Any confirmation would be appreciated so I can do the deal!

My other option was a Dolan L'Etape who have confirmed you can fit guards, but prefer the look of the Focus, main reason is the top tube difference in angle.

I've got Crud Roadracer 2s fitted to my XS Cayo Evo and they're generally fine as long as you don't fit too large a tyre. 23s are fine, 25mm Schwalbe One tubeless are fine, 25mm Pro4 Endurances can be made to fit with some very slight rubbing.
