I am thinking about getting a new bike specifically the rose pro sl 2000, for the price I don't think you can match it for the components it comes with. The problem I am having is the size, it recommends me to get a 53 but looking at the dimensions for the frame this looks to small to me, the 53 has a 532 top tube length, now on my boardman cx team 2014 in a medium has a 550 top tube length, I will tell the truth and say the boardman is a touch to big but 18cm is quite a lot no?. This estimate only takes into account your inside leg measurement which mine is around 31i, Im around 5/9i so does this sound right. Obviously as the firm is based in Germany I need to get these things right even though you have 30 days to return.

It's impossible to know isn't it! My best guess based on my experience of 3 Rose bikes and on the info you provided is the 53 is probably small, or at least I don't think the 55 will be so big for you that you can't achieve a good fit with saddle, stem adjustments etc. Purely as a illustration, I ride a 57 and I'm 5'10" with a 30" inside leg. I ordered that size based on advice from a pro bike fitter and it's spot on for me.
Before anyone else says it the Rose UK rep is based in Bradford upon Avon nr Bath and if you can get hold of him he has demo bikes in most sizes.Rose Xlite Team 3100 Di2

They do seem to have small top tube length compared to other bikes, I think the boardman comes up big anyway as it is different geometry, and I have always felt stretched out on it even wiht the seat forward and a 90mm stem, Im thinking you are right if I went for the 53 the top tube length would be 23cm smaller than my cx team which is a hell of a lot 9 inches to be correct?, Is it better being slightly to big than to small?. Also to curto80 no offence but you seem to have relatively small legs for your size, you are 2 inches taller than me but have legs 1 inch shorter no offence0

Shame Boardman don't supply reach and stack figures for anything but their higher end stuff, as this would make the sizes much easier to compare. I even emailed them to ask a few weeks back and they did not reply.
The bike is great value for money, especially if you pay in Euros. Should be something like £760 all in.0 -
18cm would indeed be a big difference! I presume you mean 18mm. If your current bike is a bit long then a small reduction in TT will obviously help. 18mm may be a tad too much to reduce it by, but then you can always extend using a longer stem.0

Here's what I did:
1. Visit their website
2. Find their measuring guide video
3. Measure yourself (as they have instructed)
4. Utilise this to select the right size frame, stem, bar width, spacers.
5. Order bike.
6. Panic.
7. Phone them for confirmation that you've made the right selection.
8. Enjoy speaking to a German who speaks better English than you and measures/fits several riders a week.
9. Calm down.
10. Watch the calendar until it's delivered.
11. Ride the nuts off it.0 -
