Gloves & Shoes?

Can anyone recommend a reasonable pair of Gloves and shoes that would be ok for general trail riding etc?

I don't go out in bad weather so neither would have to be super water proof etc. Just after some gloves to protect my hands and some shoes so I don't have to use normal trainers (normal flat shoes not SPD's).

I like fox ranger gloves, currently using 661 filter shoes which are ok, shimano am41 are highly regarded though.

Gloves are whatever is on sale from CRC when I need a pair, but I'll only ever buy Shimano shoes. I'm on my third pair, AM41s, and they're boss.

Very impressed. Very well made, they look like they'll last a while, and enough padding to save you from road rash if you come off but not so much that it spoils the feel on the your bars. And the fit, on my hands at least, is absolutely perfect, which is not the case with all the gloves I have (may be different for you of course). I've been through a few different pairs of gloves now, looking for something I'm happy with, and with these I've found them so, if they stand the test of time, I can't see me buying anything else when they finally do need replacing. And they weren't at all expensive into the bargain.
