If there was ever a politician who deserves a slow painful death it is Margaret Hodge
https://spotlightonabuse.wordpress.com/ ... e-scandal/
Not only did she ignore the reports of her own social workers on sustained and organised abuse but she slandered and tried to discredit several victims who spoke out against her.....“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”

Yeah I used to work for one of the people she tried to discredit and was in the news a bit during that period - he was the kind of person you'd actially want in power - very principled man.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

Anyone who felt strongly about these issues surely wouldn't be voting Conservative that's for sure.
It's also ironic people posting links to Telegraph articles given today's news concerning that newspaper.
Although as has already been mentioned many times before, avoidance is perfectly legal. It's when you go preaching one thing and practising another on avoidance that you deserve a pasting - as Balls, Milipede and Hodge have clearly done very recently."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." No party campaigns on the basis that they support tax evasion, tax avoidance, illegal expense claims or playing the system in such a way that they sail close to the wind. I don't mind Labour taking a pasting on these things - I'm not a Labour voter these days anyway - as I said though if people are really concerned about these issues then the Tories certainly deserve at least as much stick.
Yes there is perhaps an argument that there may be a greater element of disappointment that Labour should be found to be at it as well - if the argument is that we all know the Tories are bent as a 9 bob note anyway but I don't get the impression most of the posters here are socialists disillusioned that their party has deserted its roots.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
Here's the rub though.
Take the Red and Hapless Ed's out of the equation and their political life in the wilderness post election - what are we left with?
The lib dems have shot their load and learnt that decisions are easy when you haven't got to make them and you will probably see the electorate take the same view and they'll scurry back down whatever hole they can find as they like labour have a massive disconnect to their core vote which leaves the Tories.
So for now business's are aligning behind the tories but post election Cameron has committed the country to a referendum on the EU. That means most medium to larger businesses will cut if not cease investment in the UK until post referendum. Uncertainty is something businesses dislike intently and you can see other countries positioning themselves to benefit from the political landscape in the UK which means we are damned by inept politicians who find themselves elected not because they articulate the best policies but simply because the other options are not real options at all.“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”
