Hi all,
I am currently in the process of building up a Free-ride/Downhill bike from scratch and I am unsure which way to head with the Forks and the shock brand.
Is it either Fox or Rockshox.
Please feel free to voice all opinions!
Cheers
Dave

Budget £100 or £1000?
Both make some good forks and some rubbish ones, so model is more important than brand.
Until RMSC arrives and suggests MarzocchiI don't do smileys.

should be able to get a used van RC fairly cheaply0

Used Rockshox Boxxer R2C2 up front and a Fox Van RC rear. Save for a Push tune on the shock and it will be better than a DHX5.0.
Forget used Fox 40's. Too high maintenance, every ten days riding they need a service. Boxxeds are more reliable but get an R2C2 over a world cup, it rides as well and is infinitely more reliable.
I would suggest a Marzocchi fork if your budget allowed £1200 for a 380 C2R2 ti. At £600 a Boxxer is unbeatable unless you get lucky and find a Marzocchi 888 RC3 ti evo with records of services.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
