I have used c24 ' s for the past 2 years and very happy with them but need to upgrade to 11 speed so just wondering if I should go with zero's or stick another set of new c24.
I am looking for climbing speed doing Alpe d huez later in year.

  • Hi.

I've owned both wheels. IMHO the Racing Zero's are a much better wheel (i've still got Zero's and sold C24's). They're stiffer and just light. I weigh 75KG and do loads of climbing as I live in the mountains of South Wales.

    Laters.....
  • Thanks, thats what i needed someone who has had both, im 66kg so dont stress them too much but i still wont say no to a stiffer lighter wheel....how do the bearings stack up against dura ace hubs.

I have just retired a 7800 series DA wheelset with very concave rim braking tracks! They have served faithfully firstly as best wheels and then for the daily commute starting in 2006. I have not had to replace a spoke, not had to have them trued, still run smooth as on original hubs and bearings. Quite incredible I think! Not sure if the new generation are as bullet proof.

I also have a set of fulcrum zeros which I've had for about 4 years. I'm not so convinced about the hubs on them, occasionally needing adjustment (I'm very lazy in this regard!). They feel stiffer to me, albeit on a different bike which could distort impressions, but they definitely felt stiffer on the same bike to Zipp 303 firecrests. Despite some reservations about the rear hub, given the choice I reckon I'd still opt for the zeros. Probably little in it, but that's where my vote would go (possibly influenced by preference to campy!).

  • I current;y have RS80 on one bike and Zeros on another. The Zeros would be my choice everyday.
