So this got an article, a kickstarter scheme an $2000 behind it... and I made one in college last year!
Dont know how theirs costs $250, mine cost £15 to make!

Sorry just had to put it out there that im a genius engineering god and you should bask in my magnificence

    How much of the £15 was labour? How long did it take?
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    I like the one above with the drinks cabinet. Design an in frame drinks cabinet which fits a full suspension frame and weight nothing even when carrying 5 litres of strong alcohol then you will be rich.

    Sorry, the point I was trying to make is that the cost of making something yourself is very different to the breakeven cost of making one as a business, for what it is I don't think the prices are bad, volumes will be low which pushes prices up, I can't see me ever wanting one, but can see that for a touring bike it gives the opportunity to put some weighty items in the best place.
