Hi all,

Very random question possibly, maybe, who knows,.... Does anyone know where / suggest I can download a definitive shedload of "upbeat" music all in one hit, to whack on my phone to use on the wattbike ? without writing down all the tracks I can think of & downloading separately ?

I am be a tightarse but I don't want to pay for any of these, 46 yrs old so that may give you a clue what i'm into... music that is ! clash, u2 etc.

Cheers in advance

    I have this and some of isn't too bad. http://www.amazon.co.uk/101-Running-Son ... ning+songs

I also use itunes and make up my own playlists to stick on my ipod :-)
  • Recent thread on Pro Race may have some links you can try, suggestions for the Hour Record attempt. See here:

  • go to Spotify and look at a few bands you like, then look at the "similar" bands that they suggest. Search the playlists on Spotify etc...

So, you want a shedload of free music, and you want someone to give you a source and playlist? Lazy AND a tightarse! Do you want someone to ride the bike for you too???

I suggest having a look on iTunes - they've got loads of workout/running/exercise mixes ready made. If you really don't want to pay, at least you'll have some idea of what to illegally download. :D

I found one track completely by accident whist on random play.
If you are looking for a track to start off slightly up beat and then ramp up to a full on sprint then try Queen of the New Year by Deacon Blue.
It took me completely by surprise.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

  • A running buddy put me onto using Slayer's Reign In Blood as a training soundtrack. It's stupidly fast and aggressive, mostly in 4:4 and 45 minutes long. Apparently "Run In Blood", running as far as one can during the album's run time is A Thing.

It works well for high tempo riding. Not so much for intervals.
