Comfortable, stylish, affordable?
http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/arti ... led-43594/
Quality is yet to be found out and style is subjective, but is £79 for jersey and bibs (bibs should be more expensive than the jersey shouldn't they?) and nearly £40 for a tee shirt affordable?
I really like that white tee shirt though and will be getting one if its anything like the quality it needs to be for that price.
Great that all items come in female specific cuts too.
Evans may do a 3 for 2 on them at some point I guess, although from what I have seen they seem to want Hoy to be a non discounted premium brand.

Jeez - hope they've not used him as the template for the kit - he's still a big lad eh ?
Looks nice enough - but near on £40 for a tee shirt ? Hmm.0 -

Conversely - I hope they are using him as the template - he's just a wee slip of a lad (source: I stood next to him at Edinburgh Airport about 9 months ago)0 -
Some nice dark colours there, ideal for commuting :roll:0

Dark colours is not the problem, you just need reflective bits. Unfortunately, they don't have those either, from what I can tell.
Nice, simple and modern. I quite like them.0 -

I have to disagree MountainMonster, yes reflective bits are good in the dark, but a waste of time in daylight, it always amazes me how many cyclists ride in all black/dark grey. Perhaps Iḿ just paranoid about not being seen0 -

Back and forth! It's not the daytime you have to worry about, the colour won't make much of a difference (IMO at least). It's twilight and night I worry about.
I love my dark clothes as long as they are VERY reflective.0 -
I think it looks good, like the colours, looks stylish, definitely like theyve made female specific cuts, presume the quality will be upto the Vulpine standard, so yeah Ill be buying some for sure...maybe not the tshirt though
the thing is do you end up looking like a right fan girl/boy if you go the whole Hoy so to speak with the cap, top, shorts, socks + bike...rapha dont make bikes yet do they ? so at what stage does it go from looking reasonably stylish cycling wear,to being just a tad over obsessive0 -
Saw the jersey up close at the LBS (London Bike show, not Local Bike Shop!), and it looks okay, nothing special to touch or look at compared with the competition. The bib shorts look very nice though, but I was expecting something a bit more out of the ordinary having been produced by Vulpine.
PS - the price of the jersey is £69.99, not £79.99 as per the article.0 -

Why? Vulpine aren't exactly known for their lycra clobber are they?- 2023 Vielo V+1

Blimey! I reckon that lot looks bland, dull and overpriced.
I find the HOY thing all a bit strange; the bloke rode round and round in circles on a track bike and now folks are queuing round and round the block to buy some rebadged road bikes with his name on. Maybe I am being a bit unfair :?0 -
Tony Doyle had a bike range, Victoria Pendleton, Boardman came to fame on the track too.0
-
Yeah, I don't think anyone could argue that Boardman bikes don't benefit hugely from the chap's experience and knowledge when it comes to cycling track or road...and aero stuff in particular. He has also managed to produce a great set of bikes that seem to offer exceptional vfm, albeit that they reflect his (ahem) character. I just don't get what the HOY brand offers as a USP :?0

Pretty track stripes Defo getting that tee shirt lol.
I think the USP is that its meant to be quality stuff that newbies can trust and buy into.
Generally speaking I think it does that and may improve with time as the range grows.0 -

Wayne Rooney probably earns more in a month than Hoy earned in his whole cycling career. Good luck to him I say in whatever good stuff comes his way post retirement. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

Some of us hope they do, as not all of us are cyclists shape, I suffer terribly trying to get my arms and shoulders into jersey wand not trying to have a bin bag flapping round my waist0 -
Have the track tee (white with Hoy stripes) now.
Its a nice quality tee shirt and am really pleased with it.
Expensive for what it is though IMO.
Interesting design detail in that the rear is longer than the front, with a rounded tail.
Not sure if thats good or bad, but I like the tee shirt.0
