Garmin 510 taking longer to save rides

Updated software to 3.40

Everything else seems fine apart from when i finish my ride and go to save it take a fair amount longer. Why could this be?

do you periodically housekeep the saved activities, after youve transferred them to Strava/Garmin Connect theres no real need to keep them on the device, Ive found if you let the files build up it really begins to slow down more and more, and then when you clear them all out, it speeds up again, bit of a pain it doesnt do it automatically

This is normal. A couple of upgrades ago Garmin changed things to stop rides being lost when saving. The result being that saving takes 3-4 times as long as it did before. You can read about it in The Garmin forums.
