fitting a rack to a canyon endurance al?
Hi,
Is this a bad idea? was thinking of fitting a Axiom Streamliner rack to a canyon endurance al to do audax/ sportivies/ commuting/ everything really as I've only got room for one road bike (I've been told). will those skinny seat stays snap/ bend under the load? the website says max weight of rider and luggage of 120 kg, I weigh about 65 which leaves loads extra, but want to make sure I'm not about to do something stupid.
Thanks

I'd telephone/email them and ask the question. Does the frame have threaded eyelets or are you planning to use rubber lined p-clips?0

It's the clamping that I would be concerned about. If the rack needs to tightly clamp the chainstays then could be an issue. carbon chainstays are not designed to be clamped. Agree with precious post check with canyon.0

get some of those adapters that sit between the dropout and the quick-release nut, they should do the bottom bit. Attach the top to some sort of clamp around the seat tube. Most of the load will go through the supports at the wheel. I would not want to put a rack on with P-clips on the seat stays; the aluminium will be very thin here and the stays are designed for compression, not bending forces.0
