Do I just need STI Adapters?
I've just bought a ribble steel frame for commuter duties. The bikes I've built in the past either had internal cable routing or had barrel adjusters already fitted. The ribble frame just has black plastic bits that I'm not sure what to do with. They seem pretty firm but if I force them should they just screw out then I buy some STI adapters to put in? Sorry I'm being thick but I can't figure it out!

You need something like these shown in the link. They bolt on over the gear lever bosses - Alternatively you could just use downtube gear levers?

That's great thanks, they are what I assumed I needed. Irritated cos I was hoping to finish it this weekend to ride on Monday but no one local seems to sell them. Not sure I fancy down tube shifters!0
