Trim/half-shifts

Hi all, as you can see from the previous topic I got my hands on the 11-speed ultegra.
What I find is that you have to use half-shifts a lot more than on a 10-speed groupset, Where you'd use 8 gears without rubbing the cage. Now it's more like 4-5 gears per half-shift, so there's always an element of rubbing. Given the choice now I'd go with a 10-speed groupset and less need to trim.

I have also noticed that the crankset/bottom bracket flex when force is applied thus moving the chainring out by nearly 2mm when I pedal hard. I have had to adjust the front derailleur cage for this.

How common is it for the crankset/chainring to flex under pressure?
