Steerer tube length

I have an on one 45650b frame and need a fork for it.

I have seen one with a 185mm steerer, but not sure if this will be enough.

The frame, headset and stem details as follows

Headtube on frame is 115mm
Headset stack height 30.3mm
Stem stack height 38mm

All that adds up to 183.3mm.

Is it that simple, and will the forks fit?

Headset stack height seems a lot.

Bug with the info provided you will need a spacer. But if your bars are not where you want them you will be limited.

Oh is that your measurements or just some that you looked up on the Internet?

So much easier just to measure what you have then you know it is right other than hoping you are looking up the right parts and version and size.

I should work yes, but you will have room for only 1 5mm spacer, which limits adjustment somewhat.

  • If i could get my head round headset sizes, i might be abke to get a lower stach headset.

Frame is an on one 45650b.

And are you using a plain or tapered steerer fork?

You need a ZS44 EC44 (which bizarrely on-one don't sell - I'd be asking them what they fit to the complete bikes!)
here is one http://clee-cycles.co.uk/esite/P34603/product made by M-part

Crank Creek also do one and that is about £70

no he would need a fatter spacer as the top cap does not want to touch the steerer.

    183mm plus 5mm = 188mm - 185mm = 3mm gap. So Sounds about right to me.

Providing all the online specs are right.

I got the impression that the two versions of the FSA Orbit ITA they sell would fit. Thats also what they quote in the specs for the complete bikes.

I have credit on my on one account so was hoping to use this for the headset.

Thank you everyone for the help, i have now ordered a brand new fork, so dont need to worry about the steerer length as much, just a headset that fits.

Not with one of those special top caps that need 4mm of clearance. You know, those ones.
