Just booked flight from Gatwick to Malaga with Nowegian Air only to see that at Gatwick and Bangkok airports they won't accept soft bike bags. I have an Evoc bike bag, will that be rejected? Anybody experienced the same restrictions at Gatwick?

It's not the airport, it's the airline (Norwegian) that makes the stipulation on their website I think.
  • Can they do that? (The airport?)

Certainly I had problems with FlyBe. Having flown my bag out to NL no problem (though they told me I should have booked it as sports goods before the flight) they then told me (when I tried to book it for the return flight) that they don't take bikes!!! I asked them how the hell I wS meant to get it back. They said it could go on Stand-By in case there was space in the aircraft!! I gave them a hard time and they ralented

  • Flew to Lanzarote from Gatwick in November, took my roubaix in my PlanetX soft bike bag, no problem with it, flew with easyjet.

Yes I think its Norwegian that make his rule, not Gatwick. They must think Gatwick baggage handlers are rubbish and dont want the hassle. Although Gatwick could have told the airlines to insist on hard cases so they can stack them.
