Cotic escapade v Kaffenback 2

I have had a Kaff 2 for a year. Heavy I know and a bit of a lump but really pleased with it for the daily commute with 28 c tyres, supermarket shop with big panniers etc. Have an old Dawes Galaxy for longer tours and etc
Feeling tempted by the Cotic Escapade with the ability to take wider tyres for some more serious offroad tours, wild camping, bike packing etc.
Question is how would the Cotic Escapade compare when fitted with 28c tyres for the commute ? I think frame weights are about the same.

Kaffenback geometry is marginally more road-like than the Cotic - shorter BB drop, slacker STA and longer headtube would make the Cotic a bit less sharp-handling, but probably a bit better offroad. I had a titanium frame built based on Kaff geo with discs and bigger tyre clearances about 5 years before P-X made the Kaff2 - it was a hoot to ride both on road and off. Recommend a triple or MTB double for decent offroad capability.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
