So after winning this frame after putting in a cheeky bid, not expecting to win, it was time to track down all my ods and sods that i had either lent out, hidden away or purchased cheaply.

Got my spare forks back and my metal winter wheels, old bars and stem and bunged them on

Now waiting on a set of XT brakes from zee germans as i was given a few months back a set of XT shifters in Ispec and a zee rear mech to go with the absalute black oval chain ring i ordered.

Looking forward to seeing how it compares to my longer travel tranny.

    Nice stalking :)

Last night fitted the brakes, mech, chain and shifter.
The Absalute black oval chain ring is on back order though :(
Almost there. Added some protection tape round the usual bits.

I'll be keeping my eye out for a 30.9 dropper and some uppers for my forks as they have seen better days.

    Update:
Did a couple of bits friday night and saturday, Trimmed the hoses to a better length,

and popped the cranks on, then realised that the Absolute black spideless chain ring i'd ordered is going to be wrong, good job they are out of stock of both. so emailled them asking them to swap it for a standard 104BCD.

Fitted this and gave her a maiden voyage last night, DSC_0031.jpgneeds a bit of tuning and brakes need a bit more fluid as too much travel on levers

    It's dirty, I need a new one
    DSC_0036.jpg

Sorted the brakes (more fluid sorted that) and the sag, had to put about 40psi extra in the rear shock (that's why it felt so squidgy last night) looking forward to trying it out properly

Had to get some new bars as the make do ones were horrible. DSC_0017.jpg
And because of the new bars in had to visit and actual shop and buy a stem.

Then after some very muddy xc rides I gave it a clean! DSC_0022_1.jpg
Now to decide whether or not to keep her or sell her? If I keep her I gotta get rid of the fox flexible forks.

Thats a bargain frame and for a spare parts special its a nice bike.
    Whats it ride like?
I really like the SB66 and always wanted to try a SB95

Nice. Gotta say the SB95 is probably the best 29er I've ever ridden, so smooth and wears it weight very well, felt much lighter to ride than it actually is.

Cheers. It pedals really well but because the forks are so bad I can't tell if it's them holding me back or it just likes to be on the ground more than my tranny?
Also the oval chain ring, I didn't feel the need for a range expander at the rear. That also may have an affect on why it pedals so well.?
