Bonding bottom bracket into ali frame

Morning all
I need to bond a b/b into an ali frame (fast commuter/trainer bike) and am planning to use Araldite 2014.
Before I start, has anyone done this before and recommend anything else to use so I can investigate.
Threadless b/b in there at the moment but weighs a ton and restricts to rubbish square taper cranks, thread is too far gone to re cut and no one within 100 miles of where I am can helicoil.
Thank you
M

Epoxy seems like a fair bet. If you are going to bond HTII cups into the frame you'll need something to constrain concentricity and perpendicularity; if I were in your shoes I would grease up the crankset and fit it to hold everything in place while the epoxy cures.
I find that Araldite likes a bit of warmth as well. For small items I put them in the oven at a low temperature, but you might be restricted to arranging it on top of a radiator.- - - - - - - - - -

I remember sticking bits of leaky aeroplane together with 2014 - don't tell Boeing! ;-) Agree on assembling cranks during curing and giving them a few turns to optimise bearing alignment.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Brilliant - thank you. Am going to try Loctite Red thread lock first to see if the b/b will grip onto any remaining parts of the thread before epoxy-ing. Hopefully should all work (he says).
Thanks again
