Any thoughts/personal reviews on these two?
Will be used as commuter/bad weather/winter bike.
Haven't seen the Bianchi but have seen the Advanced 1.
Can't find a 2 until April, Bianchi is at Epic now.
Leaning towards the Bianchi as
Thinks it looks better
Alu and not carbon. Have a carbon best bike and having had a couple of iced offs recently, think it may be more practical
Giant is £1,400, Epic has Bianchi at £1,200

I think the Bianchi bikes are very poor value for money compared to others on the market. They look really nice theres no doubt about it but that's about it. I've looked at them all upto about £1500 and there no way I'd pay full price for one. If one was heavily reduced in a sale then that's different or if its won in a competition etc.
The Bianchi Impulso was designed primarily to be a nice looking bike, performance was secondary.
If it was between those 2 I'd get the Giant as its a better bike and the Defy has good reviews. However, if I were you I'd widen my net a fair bit as there other decent bikes on the market worthy of consideration as well.0 -
Any suggestions would be welcome...........

What about the Cannondale supersix evo? http://www.evanscycles.com/products/can ... 54394.With some mudguards on?
Or the Kenesis Racelight 4S something like that or one of the Genesis bikes if you are after something very sturdy.Or one of the Whyte bikes, I've seen these close up and they look really nice.Miles better for a commuter/winter bike than the Bianchi Impulso http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/browse/ ... rand=whyte.0 -
If you like the Bianchi and want a reliable affordable commuter/winter bike try a Via Nirone.0
