11speed mix and match question

I'm about to convert from shimano 1o5 10 speed to 11 speed after agreeing to buy some Ultegra 6800 shifters and 105 5800 mechs.
I just had a thought though, and maybe someone here can help me.
Will the levers operate the mechs correctly?
I'd love an answer before I hand over a wedge of cash.
