Longer thigh fit

I have been trying to figure out how to convey my situation without it sounding like a gay porn ad but WTH: Tall, hung, skinny guy needs help. There, I did it.

So my chest size puts me in medium jerseys quite nicely. My waist lets me wear small shorts though generally good and tight. I like the small shorts on me because they put the, er, unmentionable thing in place and it stays there. Wearing medium shorts just winds up with things eventually sliding down and getting in the way.
BUT, small short pant legs go barely halfway down my thighs. Sort of like a scene from a cheesy '80s high-school movie or something.
The kit industry does not seem to make shorts for my build so I was wondering if any of you out there have struggled with the same and/or know which shorts tend to be longer than others that might make up the distance.
Sorry for TMI.

I had exactly the same problem, until I found these:

They are cut longer in the leg so fit perfectly. Really comfortable pad as well. Recommended.

May be past your budget but Rapha do a longer cut on some of their shorts

I've got Louis Garneau shorts and they're a couple of inches longer than others I have - almost too long for me. Nice shorts too.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

Most race kit, particularly the good Italian stuff (and Assos) is sized on rider height and not width. Lycra and other technical materials stretch - so an XL in cycling gear doesn’t mean it’s for fatties – it means it’s for tall people. So you may be thin - but you’ll still get the best fit from the larger sizes.

    Great information guys - thanks.
I am going to try some of these other brands.

k-dog: Which Garneau shorts do you have? I have the older Mondo bibs and always liked the fit/form but alas they are short on me.

These ones - good deal in smaller sizes at the moment.
