Replacing Zee with narrow wide chainring

Hi, just bought my first mtb for 15 years. I have built up some road bikes but just learning about great new MTB technology.
It is a Giant trance with a 34T Shimano zee single chainring with a really clunky (and ugly) chainkeeper top and bottom.
It is a bit overgeared so I would like to fit a 32T narrow wide ring and also get rid of the chainkeeper stuff to save some weight and friction.
1.Any reason why I shouldn't? It has a clutch RD.
2. Any tips on removing the chainset and chainkeeper to change the ring?
Thanks
Alan

1 no
2 undo bolts and re fit. spacers or shorter bolts may be needed."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

...and put some loctite or copper paste on the new bolts - chances are they will have it on when you buy them though....take your pickelf on your holibobs....
