So I'm looking to replace the brake pads on my campagnolo veloce brakes and I find that I can replace both brake units for a very similar price....how does that work????

Haven't fathomed it myself, but tempted to upgrade to Centaur calipers for another £10-15 (which I think are compatible with third party blocks).

That's what I'm going to do. They have a set simply called campagnolo skeleton dual pivot brakes which are only £20 more. They don't seem to be part of any particular groupset.

You can buy after market pad inserts for campagnolo like kool stop or even aztec for not a huge ammount. Far cheaper and less wasteful. Centaur brakes work as well as veloce which is pretty damm good.

  • I just bought some of these for the commuter which seems to eat pads. Probably wont last long but are super cheap. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/clar ... -prod47494

I've also used BBB ones in the past which were as good as the campag ones.

    I hadn't noticed those before:

Odd that they don't have a groupset name. Maybe intended for OEM builds?

Edit: Looks like the current Athena caliper on the Campag website (neither Athena nor Chorus have a groupset name where you'd expect it on the caliper, at least in the pictures). Centaur seems to be gone this year.
