Garmin 500. GSC10 not pairing

I've had my Garmin for about 12 months. It's a nice little device.
And this time of year the gsc10 is a bonus on the turbo as you can how fast you're giving and how far.
Then last week I noticed it wasn't paired. So the first thing I did was change the battery. Still no joy. I know it's tricky to line up the magnets just right. But when I press the reset button I get the red and green flashes as I turn the crank. So I onow the sensor is picking up.
Just nothing I've tried will make it pair up.
Has anyone else had a problem like this. Any advise.
Thanks. Jon.

On the Garmin 500 unit I think you need to firstly set the GPS to 'No' as you are indoors, and then go to Settings and Bike Settings and ensure it is linked to the bike.0

I've just tried a master reset.
The edge500 had to be setup again. I've done that. It detected my HRM no problem. But still having problems with speed and cadence.
I'm thinking now perhaps it faulty.
Any more ideas.
Cheers.

Are both the speed and cadence not working?0

The GSC10 is well known to be made of cheese. If it won't reset and/or changing the battery does nothing stick it in the binAnd the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.0

If you press the little rubber button on the sensor it should flash red and green once. It will then flash either red or green every time it senses a magnet from either a pedal or wheel going past. If it is still seeing the magnets it should be ok and the fault with pairing may just be in settings. Go into the menu and select bike and then find cadence/speed sensor and search. If it sees nothing even if you place a magnet by hand across it then its bin time.0

Sounds like its bin time.
Can anyone comment if Garmin's newer speed and cadence sensor £59 is significantly any better. Or is that still made f cheese.0 -
Although things like Ant+ HRMs pair automatically with the 500, for cadence pairing you have to go into the specific bike profile setting and select your bike. The cadence pairing is in there.
I found this out recently when trying to pair my Wahoo BlueSC Ant+ cadence unit
Apologies if youve already done this.0 -
I had this same problem with my GSC10 but with a garmin 800, (my heart rate monitor still connects fine)so in the bin it went and I got the new separate speed and cadence sensors.
But they won't pair either! They light up as they should, the settings on the garmin 800 are correct set to speed and cadence not speed/cadence.
But still nothing which got me thinking it was the 800 at fault.
But while out on a ride yesterday it detected someone else's speed and cadence sensors so I think mine will be going back as this set is made of cheese aswell!0
