Genesis Core 10 Fork upgrade

Looking to rid the bike of the toyshop forks that came with it 100mm travel on 650b.

What would you recommend and how much travel could and should i go for.

Not very technical when it comes to this stuff but they are 9mm qr and this is the headset.

Prob £300 max but would buy second hand if they were in decent condition.
