Where I can find a high vis cycling cap in a large size?

Hi,

I'm trying to find a cycling cap that is high vis yellow, but that comes in larger sizes. The best I've found is the Castelli Performance Cycling Cap and the Capo GS Cycling Cap, but both are just one size. I'd prefer one with as little branding as possible on it, but at this point anything would do I'm not even sure one exists. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Try Walz caps. They come in very big sizes. I have ordered direct from the US. No problem. Some are sold in the UK.

Thanks. I had checked there but they didn't have anything in high vis that I could find.

For what it's worth, I did find this website which although it doesn't sell what I'm after, they do their caps in quite a large range of sizes and also make them to your specific size at no extra cost. It's a bit of a shame they're at the higher end of the price range, but their designs are a little different which is nice. https://this-is-cambridge.com/

    haha, beautiful!

I might actually go for one of the This Is Cambridge caps as it's mainly the underside of peak that I want to be fluro so I have something that makes my black helmet more visible. They're handmade and with a good range of sizes but they're £23.50 including postage so if anyone is aware of anything cheaper then I'm all ears. https://this-is-cambridge.com/shop/cycl ... eat-gears/

I dont think a little bit of fluro under a cap peak is really going to make a lot of visbility difference to a black helmet. Its not moving and in daylight will hardly show at all, especially if your head is down.

Get one if you want one, or like one, but its not going to help visibility.

Thanks for the link, I actually went ahead and bought one from TIC in the end.

I dunno, it's better than nothing and doesn't look too invisible from this picture from one review with the peak up. It's not so much for daylight as it is dusk. I think it's good to have something visible that's above the height of a car and I already have a light on the back.

I've got black and white 3M Scotchlite Reflective stickers hidden on my helmet, maybe worth a go.

Even worse. At dusk it will conpletely disappear. A small strobe light would be so much better, and it wouldnt make you look like a knob either. :D
  • Condor have a Hi-Viz option, which is on the larger side of the scale for a one-size cap. Bigger anyway that a Castelli I also own.

That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I might look into getting a roll.

Cheers, that looks like a good alternative if to try if I'm not keen on the one I've ordered.

Yep a day glo peak under a helmet is not going to stand out at all in dusk. Even if you have lights - you will be drowned out by brighter car lights behind you. You put your head down and the peak disappears.

One of these - http://www.ekoi.fr/en/25-safety-vest-ekoi will give you much better visibility from all angles - light or dark - and they're not windproof - so won't overheat you.

Cheers, I already have a high vis gilet and gloves. Everything else including my bike is black. I might just buy a high vis helmet when mine needs replacing if the cap doesn't work too well.

Or even better on your rear mudguard, where headlights will be pointing at.
