Wheel recommendation

Currently have a set of 2013 mavic crossride wheels on my 29er which have been faultless, have about 2700km of trail use (very gritty area) and still going strong. Stripped the free wheel system down and serviced them so should be good for another bit.
Thinking of replacing them in the near future. Looking to spend about £300 on a new set. Any recommendations would be welcome. Would like the same reliability as the crossrides but maybe a little lighter.

If they're as good as the Tech Enduro they should be excellent.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Thanks for the responses
The Velocity blunt rims are similar weight to my current set so rules them out. Had been considering Crest/hope option but probably above my budget. The hopes are also a good option but again above budget. Would ideally like a set about 1700-1800g weight0 -

Thanks, That's a very good price for them. Very, Very tempted. What are Merlin wheel builds like?
I previously purchased a set of 26" crests from superstar and the spoke came loose on both front and rear. Its mainly trails I ride so hoping the crest would be as reliable as the mavic crossrides. I weigh 175lbs excluding gear.0 -
Any wheel needs re tensioning after the first couple rides. Merlin builds are good.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I run the 26 inch version. Hope / crest. Possibly the best upgrade I made . Marked difference to ride quality. Tubeless set up easy. ( you may need to change rim tape for stans )0

Are the factory wheels not built by hope?2014 Giant Trance 27.5 1

I bought mine from Winstanleys. Had Crossrides previously on my Zesty so have experience of both. Crossrides were good but use proprietary spokes, etc whereas the Hopes/Crests parts are more easily obtainable. The rear wheel kept developing play and needed constant adjustment.
The Hope/Crests are Hope Hoops (built at Hope factory) and arrived as true as you`ll get. Set them up tubeless with Stans rimtape, sealant and can honestly say they`re brilliant! Fit and forget. Roll forever, nice clicky freehub (subjective though it is), around 1600g for the pair and easily serviceable - what`s not to like! You will also need the adaptor kit if you`re 142x12 on the rear which I believe was a further £10-12.

For a few quid over £300 I don`t believe there are a better option for general x-country/trail riding.2017 YT Jeffsy 27 AL Comp

are hope hoops not built in the far east then checked at the factory?0

Not a properly built one. All of mine that were properly built have gone years without being touched. They were only touched because they got damaged. My rear wheel hasn't been touched since it was built 18 months ago, the front hasn't either and that's over 2 years old. The wheels on my DH bike only ever got re tensioned because I took most of the spokes out. Never got anything done to it after that until I took out a couple more spokes.
Hope Hoops aren't built by Merlin. My last Hoop was built really badly. Got a refund it was so bad. I've heard others saying the same thing as well. They used to be built really well though. That front wheel I was on about was a Hoops build. Hopefully they just had a few dodgy ones and are now back on track.0
