I've just fitted a new Chris King 11/8 threadless headset to my Lynskey bike/forks. On fitting the base plate to the fork I notice there is a gap of a 2-3mm between the baseplace & fork crown due to the shoulder on the fork crown side (down) of the base plate.Any ideas how to remedy this? And before anyone says its upside down, it's not!

FWIW the part in question is called a crown-race and check that your forks don't already feature an integrated crown-race? If you still need the crown-race, they are a tight fit and usually require the right tool and a degree of force to fit it - simply take your forks down to your LBS to install correctly.

Pictures of your actual issue will help it being resolved.
