Hi looking around for one of theses:

From what i can see its just a standard K-Edge garmin mount with a GoPro attachment that screws into the underside. If so is it possible to buy one? where from?

Cheers

  • I got the K-Edge XL Combo Mount from Westbrook Cycles just over a week ago, IIRC it came in just under £45 with shipping.

I wrote to Madison, the distributors over availability just the other day. They said the were waiting for a new delivery later in January and I have the impression there is no stock around at the moment.
I guess I'll fork out the cash and get one once they're back in stock again but I do find the price far too high really.

I have just ordered a couple of the K-edge ones from Rose bikes. Ordered them on Thursday and they are in the UK so expect them to come on Monday.

Yes, I saw that was possible via Rose but thought £48.36 + £7.60 shipping a bit ripe.

I needed two so the P&P wasn't too bad. Still, they have been impossible to find since they were shipped in December.

Ive seen it for sale (the gopro attachment bit that goes onto the existing garmin mount - it was under £20 i think) in Evans but it seems to be out of stock on their website.

Not the combo mount. That is the price for the single mount.

I believe those guys that Ugo recommends (Superstarts, Superstarrs, or something  ) do one at a very reasonable price :D

I think it is too short for the Garmin 1000, but only £19.99 + Shipping

I made one for my Garmin mount using some M3 nuts and bolts through the holes not used by the Garmin twist insert. I bolted on a bit of 2mm thick plastic shaped to the same as one of the go pro stick on mounts. Hey presto a go pro mount under my Garmin. Has been robust enough off road on my cross bike and only cost me to get a couple of M3 bolts, nuts and washers.

If it's anything like their standard mount then it's certainly worth purchasing this over the k-edge IMO, if the head unit device has enough room that is.

I've pushed the button on the Superstar one. It's to fit a G500 so shouldn't be a problem in that respect. I was having a problem forking out around £45 for the K-Edge one - a lot for just a bracket.

Btw, the Superstar one is £19.99 with no charge for basic delivery. Worth a punt I'd say. We'll see how it works out.

Cheers for the heads up meanredspider.

Raceware make them, 3d printed in pretty much any colour.

  • I looked at Raceware about two weeks ago but I couldn't see a mount of the same design.

If you email martin himself he will make pretty much anything you require.

Can take a little while to get sorted but he will come good, Martyn is currently 'printing' a custom version of one of these for me

The mod I've asked for is a bigger gap between the base of the Garmin mount and the spigot where the light mounts for my Magicshine on a Hope bracket.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

My dad has the k-edge combo mount (the xl one for the 810 and garmin virb).

Makes the bars much tidier than having individual mounts. However, he isn't over impressed with the stability of the footage. With a Garmin virb sitting underneath there is definitely some flex and movement in the bracket which makes the videos a bit shaky.
