Blimey, that's shit money isn't it.
    Trail fun - Transition Bandit
Road - Wilier Izoard Centaur/Cube Agree C62 Disc
    Allround - Cotic Solaris
  • That must be close to the UCI minimum wage

I wouldn't ride through a fence for that ( he got a 400,000 euro payout for that apparently)

The management have been openly critical - saying he hasn't been trying
  • Plus they got the Dutch national champs jersey for a season.
    Cheap as chips.

and he did get them that 80 th place in the Châteauroux Classic de l'Indre Trophée Fenioux

Having said that his Giro was lackluster especially as he is only 30 and a very experienced GT rider.

He's back with a Dutch team so perhaps a bit less fish out of water
  • "It claimed that its salary department explained to him that the remaining amount, namely 2,327.16 euro, had been “paid to the Italian State as IRPEF (income tax) balance, and that he would detract the same amount from the taxes to be paid in the Netherlands, as stated in the CUD (certification of the salaries received by a worker) which will be sent him in February.”

Huh hang on a minute. You can't pay tax in two different EU countries. Only one. So either Hoogerland pays tax in Italy or in the Netherlands, he shouldn't pay it in both.
    Correlation is not causation.

You can pay tax in two EU countries, you just shouldn't be double taxed. So what he pays in one country should be deducted from his tax liability in the other.

It's harsh, he must be the only person to ever pay tax on his income in Italy!

I think there is tax and there is 'tax'
