It matters not, win or lose, it's how you ride the bike

    No contest - newer version has Rockshox Fork, Shimano gearing (including clutch derailleur) and Shimano brakes.

    The biggest difference is the 2013 has 26inch wheels and the new one 27.5.

    Old version has Fox Evo forks, only thing to do with them is sell as new before even riding the bike and get some decent Rockshox, so you may as well buy the 2015 unless you want to stick with 26" wheels.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    I was thinking along similar lines but went for a Bird Zero instead..........just look at the specs;

    Or.. if you had parts and wanted a 'half -' whyte 901 to build up I am contemplating selling my frame forks, wheels etc.
    So Whyte 2014 901 frame, 27.5 whyte wheels, maxxis ardent and crossmark tyres (good cond), brand new headset, sektor gold 130mm forks, SRAM GXP BB. for around £700 open to offers. potentially could include cranks and stem but for a little bit more.
    I bought it last march but have been injured half the time :-(
