Ferrules for internal cables

I bought a Planet-X RT58 frame a while back - I posted a thread at the time as the internal cabling set up seemed a bit odd. Anyway, I built the bike up and it is great, except for sticky shifting.

The front mech sometimes takes several goes before it will move back down and on rear changes I have to flip the down-change lever back up as well as down.

It seems most likely this is related to the cabling, and I'm thinking it's probably where the cable enters the frame.
I've seen ferrules with 'noses' and wondered if these would be useful.

Any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Don't Planet X supply the appropriate ferrules for their frames?

The end caps with the tongues are to provide some protection against the ingress of dirt and water and help locate the outer into the shifter body. They can also be used with rubber 'boots' which slide over the tongue, to give even more protection. It sounds to me that you're suffering from too much cable friction, the general causes of which, are excessively tight cable radii or badly cut outers which haven't been tidied-up after cutting to length.

Cable lengths should be OK. I'll have a look at the cable ends and see if this sorts it out.

    Cheers
