Chain and quick-links
This might be a daft question, but when my chain is worn and I'm replacing it, should I be replacing the quick-links too (assuming the new chain doesn't come with quick-links included of course) - or do the links tend to last longer than the chain itself?

I always buy KMC Chains and use the quick links that come with them. No reason AFAIK why a quick link should wear any less and so last longer than any other link.0

I have been using the same KMC link for at least it's 3rd chain now (over 10k miles) and no problems. I don't doubt that the pins may have more wear than the rest of the chain but it's only one link and not likely to cause any increased wear to the drivetrain.0

But why bother when you get a new quick link with each KMC chain? What are you doing with the new quick links you have but haven't used on the chains they came with? Why not just use them when you fit the new chain?0 -
if you get a new quick link with the new chain then use that and then pop the old quick link in you saddlepack / toolkit as a spare for if you break a chain on the road.Bianchi Infinito CV

that's exactly what I do too - cant see any sense in doing anything else as you cant buy KMC chains without quick links included and AFAIK can't use the quick links for anything else.0 -
