Could anyone recommend a chain tool for home use 9/10/11 speed as I have all three groupsets.

Probably need to buy two I suspect. One for riding and one for workshop style.

Will try and stay away from budget versions as they tend to bend or be too small to hold.

  • Edit I was thinking of Park Tool for the workshop version.

The cheaper Park Tools Brute chain tool has served me fine for years. No need to get anything else.

A decent multitool will serve both purposes and do all three.

But, Quicklinks make it almost superfluous.

When fitting a new chain, you'll still need a chain tool.

I've used the park tool folding version (currently CT6.3) for several years.
  • I bought the Park Tool Brute CT-5 yesterday and tried it out. Works ok on Shimano 11-speed chain.
Still need quite strong hands to get the pin out for enough leverage. Easy once the pin is out

    Thanks all for the advice.
