A couple of threads in the Buying forum advise otherwise.

    Yeah, UTFS.
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
  • You can see it two ways

    1) You'd save 600 quid

    2) You'd waste 200 quid

IME the second trumps the first. Shimano R 501 are better wheels whichever way you look at them... and they come at 1/3 of the price... Happy days!

I bought a 2nd hand bike that had these wheels on, I took 'em off and have them sat behind me right now but they seem p decent. Might turn them into a winter wheelset with tubeless.

You must remember though if everyone listened to ugo we'd all be riding around on 28mm tubeless tyres, maybe on hand built HED Belgiums on Novatech hubs, on a steel bike, scowling (and posting) toward anyone who dared do anything different. Thank goodness for diversity.

Oh wait, I've got SRAM, which can take those :D

If everyone listened to Ugo then nobody would suggest using a wheelset for winter with a very thin braking track...........
    Faster than a tent.......

On the other hand, if I didn't post my opinion, some will get conned into buying some crap wheels like the ones in question and regret wasting their money.
If you find a post from someone saying something along the line of "I listened to Ugo and the Cycleclinic and I wish I didn't" please bring it to my attention, because I have never seen such thing.

You can post your personal experience without referring to my comment in the hope of making the headlines, really...

Just so people don't think it's just Ugo.

I have or previously had the following
    Zipp 202
    Dura ace 9000 C24
    Dura ace 7900 C24
    Dura ace 7900 C35
    Dura ace 7850 C24
    Fulcrum Zero
    Xentis 4.2
    Chris King hand built
    9000 hand built
    6800 hand built
    105 hand built
    And the DT Swiss Tricon

I can hand on heart say that the Tricons have been (by a big margin) the poorest set of the lot. The only ones to go out of true for no obvious reason, the most difficult ones to get back into true (3 different shops tried and finally sent back to the UK distributor and it came back with the rim logos trashed as part of the truing) and the most difficult rims to fit clincher tyres. Lack of confidence with the wheels meant they were quickly taken off the bike and held in permanent reserve.
