Just thought I would pop a few pics up of my newish bike, only made a couple of changes so far but plan on new bars/stem soon. I don't see too many other Felt MTB around or on forums, so it's nice to have something different.

Purchased in November last year, for just under £2000, I thought the spec was reasonable, the weight was ok, and the colour was quite subtle (not really wanting a luminous stickered shouty bike personally). The riding position was slightly cramped, now cured with a layback seatpost, am debating going 2 X 10 or even 1 X 10 also.

Standard spec :
Frame Felt Trail, double-butted 6061 aluminum, Hydroform, 130mm travel, Equilink suspension technology, ControlTaper head tube, post disc mount, replaceable derailleur hanger, standard 73mm threaded bottom bracket, 12 x 142mm w/ Syntace style thru axle
Forks RockShox Sektor Silver 140mm travel PopLoc remote lockout, hollow 6061 aluminum crown, tapered aluminum steerer tube, magnesium lowers, 15mm Maxle, post style disc mounts

You want to move that chainstay protector forward a bit, you aren't protecting the bit most often clattered (just behind the chainwheels), the chain can't get to the rear section outside the smallest sprocket at all.

Nice looking bike, is it single pivot?
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • Thank you for putting the images up buddy_club :)

Rookie - yes single pivot but its got a parallel link thingy (equilink) which seems to work well stopping 95% of any 'bobbing' while pedalling uphill).

It seems to be an all-rounder type of bike, pretty good on the rough stuff with plenty of travel for most trails I have tried, but not too hardcore that it wont climb well either. Overall I like it, suits me and my local trails, ideal XC/Trail compromise I think. Plenty of scope for making it lighter too.
Downsides : Gearing is a bit pointless, and the tyre clearance isn't great with 2.35 nobby nics on, for the mud we seem to get over here, but hey it's always going to be a compromise no matter what you buy, and this is fine.
