Faulty Garmin 800 battery

Hey everyone,
My Garmin has just developed a problem with its battery. Every time I turn it on, it states the the "batteries are low", then powers off. When I plug it in to charge, it goes from 0% charged to 100% percent within a few seconds, but comes up with the same battery message when I unplug it and turn it on.
Has anyone else had a problem similar to this? Hopefully, it's just a case of buying a replacement battery and installing that, rather than a software problem (due to damp perhaps?).
Any input would be much appreciated.

Not had that problem, but if you ring garmin's customer service (make sure you ring and not email) then they'll get you a replacement out very promptly, I sent mine off and had then new one back in about 3 days.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

Just out of interest, how much did it cost for your replacement battery?0

Mine wasnt for a battery, i'd smashed the screen on mine, it was an out of warranty replacement, was about £60 I think but I got a new unit.
If yours is within 2 years should be free.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Replacement batteries can be had for around £10 on Amazon, you'll need a small torx screwdriver too. Use something plastic to push the battery connector home. Instruction videos on YT.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
