So Christmas is drawing in, and you'll probably want to sneak off away from the family and waste some time surfing the internet.

Only, it's the middle of winter, and there's no cycling other than bizarre novelty cyclocross which is for perverts and the truly desperate.

So, what you should do, is fill your time reminiscing about the 2014 cycling season, and watching your favourite clips.

Don't mind what it is, how long or short it is, but let's see the vids from 2014 that will keep you going through the fallow months.

I'll start with the last 30 mins of this year's Flanders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAbldr9tENg

  • You are good - but judging the best clips from next year - that is too good

    Baha, will correct.
  • Do they have to be recognised channels or tv grabs people have uploaded?

When does the Sporza highlights package land?

That's always about as good as it gets

    Strade Bianche 2014

I don't recall Sagan and Kwiatkowski going head to head before
This was certainly a convincing round 1 victory to the Little Flower

Don't for one minute believe that on bike cameras are "the future" but enjoyed this sprint by Giant - amazing to see it in full flight, the elbows the communication.

  • Thread prompted me to revisit a very wet day I had sitting by the roadside in Northern France. A spectacular day but one in retrospect which should not have been allowed.

  • Are folks still moaning about Stage 5? There were more crashes in Yorkshire (likely)

RVV and P-R extended highlights are on ES2 this morning which is a nice surprise.

The guys in the dole office in Luxembourg might disagree.

Happy memories of the free entertainment offered by listening to a good few people by the bar articulating how upset they were when Cav planted (including one woman saying she nearly cried! - incredible).

You mean Andy Schleck? He crashed on the London stage. Anyway, many people commented how while lots of riders complained about the dangerous crowds, there were actually fewer crashes in the opening stages than most recent years
  • ^ so it was (oops) ... still, none of the riders who mattered abandoned (solely) because of stage 5.

Ha! to be fair. I missed most of the TdF postings this year as I was at the roadside so wasn't sure how the arguments had played out. Stage 5 was my second most memorable sporting event of the year, just behind Leicester City beating Man U 5-3.

(Football reference probably invites a second yellow and therefore a three match ban...oops)
