Along with your racism, prejudice, sexism and because you're basically thick, that's a hell of a burden.

Just add morally superior, judgmental prick to the list and you've got a full house.

Soon, it's not up to temperature yet. The bright side is not seeing the oil disappear at such a rate

An oil Aga, I see. Why not a solid fuel Aga? Or was that installed before you moved in?

In before we moved in and a lovely green colour, we have enquired about getting it re-enamelled - £2,500, decided I love green

Have a shop around, a place near Newark did ours for around £1200 but it was already being dismantled/reassembled so that might account for a large part of the cost.

I know, but as per the normal rules of renovations, the budget and contingency has been spent and we haven't done all of the planned jobs
  • I seriously considered how many cans of fire retardant spray paint I could buy for £1200 and just keep respraying it every now and again - I obviously didn't get me way

Damn hard to get it to adhere to enamel properly.

Indeed - couldn't find anywhere on tinterweb which suggested it would be a good idea. Still commenting to this day on the wonderful cookers we could have had for the price of a bit of fancy paint/enamel.

    A yellow Aga...hmm.

MGB - is there a pre-requisite for wet boards in a bathroom you intend to tile throughout?

I'd use them where a shower was going to be just to be on the safe side - if you didn't, make sure your grouting is absolutely spot on in that area. Dealt with issues a few years down the line where there has been an almost pin prick size hole and it's just built up and got behind the tiles

Okay, good. Cheers. For the marginal extra cost, wet board it is then.
